EACA To Host a Half Day Member Leadership Conference @ ExhibitorLive. The EACA will be hosting a half day invitation only member leadership conference with an outstanding Program for senior level members to Explore, Innovate & Prosper on Sunday March 29- the day before the ExhibitorLive Exhibition –  in Tampa, FL.  The member leadership conference will take place from 12:30 to 4:30 that day followed by a roundtable discussion reception.   Registration is Now Open.

EACA Announces Intrepid Award Nominees.  For nearly 20 years the EACA awarded an Intrepid Award to the individual or organization that made the greatest contribution to customer service in the tradeshow industry.  The award was suspended in 2017 due to a reorganization with the association and then was further interrupted by COVIC.   We are happy to announce that we are reconstituting the award to make sure we recognize those individuals or organizations that enhance customer service and that enhance the ability for our customers, the exhibitors, to generate value from their show participation.

This award exists to recognize those who:

  • Elevate customer service
  • Strengthen the customer experience across the industry
  • Enhance the ability of exhibitors to generate real, measurable value

EACA to Exhibit at ExhibitorLive. The EACA will be exhibiting and sponsoring Exhibitor Live in Tampa this March.  We will be located in Booth #122 in the Industry Association’s Pavillion.  In addition the EACA Board will meet on March 29, the day before the Expo Hall opens.   Please feel free to forward any issue of concern or opportunity that you’d like the Board to review and discuss at that meeting.

Messe Munchen Acquires Tradeshow Logic  <TSNN>.  Messe München recently announced it acquired Tradeshow Logic as a subsidiary, intensifying its market entry and presence in North America with the full-service event solution provider.   The news of the acquisition follows Messe München increasing its footprint in North America with the launch of analytica USA and transport logistic Americas in 2025.

Momentum Opens New Base City.   Momentum Management recently announced the opening of their newest base city in Reno, Nevada, further expanding our nationwide presence. This new market will be led by Tom Barcelona, whose many years of experience building and developing strong city operations have played a key role in our continued growth

Eagle Management Announces Transition in New Orleans.    Eagle Management Group (“Eagle”) recently announced a leadership transition within its New Orleans operations. After more than a decade in the role, Russell Elliott has decided to step down from his position as City Manager and will now serve as Assistant City Manager. Dennis Alley will move into the City Manager role.

On Location Expands Operations to Indiana and Ohio <Exhibit City News>  On Location, a nationwide provider of labor and management services for exhibits, events, and environments, continues its strategic expansion with the launch of feet-on-the-ground in Indiana and Ohio. The territory will be led by Regional Manager Cody Selvia, who officially joined the company on November 3, 2025.

Exhibit City News Offers Exclusive EACA Member Discount.  Exhibit City News (ECN) has introduced an exclusive directory listing discount for members of the Exhibition and Convention Alliance of Canada (EACA). The offer applies to new listings and annual renewals for EACA members in good standing.  EACA members receive preferred pricing on two tiers in the ECN Service Directory. The Standard Listing is $1,000 per year, a savings of $275 off the standard rate. The Premium Listing is $2,000 per year, a savings of $300.

ECA Releases Public Policy Agenda <Exhibit City News> The Exhibitions & Conferences Alliance (ECA), the unified public policy voice of the U.S. business and professional events industry, today announced its 2026 Public Policy Agenda, which outlines the organization’s federal and state policy priorities for the year ahead. 

ECA’s 2026 Public Policy Agenda supports policies that will strengthen the industry in six critical issue areas:

  • Trade and tariffs: ECA supports trade policies that preserve affordability and reduce uncertainty for the industry and its customers.
  • International travel: ECA supports policies that lower barriers to attracting international exhibitors, attendees, and buyers, including reducing visa wait times, modernizing visa processing, and eliminating unnecessary fees and overly restrictive policies that deter travel to the U.S. for events.
  • Taxes: ECA supports federal, state, and local tax policies that enhance industry competitiveness while opposing measures that disproportionately harm the U.S. business and professional events ecosystem.
  • Workforce development: ECA supports policies that strengthen the industry’s ability to recruit, train, and retain its next-generation workforce.

Southwest Airlines Begins Assigning Seats <Meetings & Conventions>.   Southwest Airlines passengers recently made their final boarding-time scrambles for seats last week as the carrier ended the open-seating system that distinguished it from other airlines for more than half a century.    Starting last Tuesday, customers on Southwest flights will have assigned seats and the option of paying more to get their preferred seat closer to the front of a plane or to grab seats with extra legroom. The airline began selling tickets shaped by the new policy in July.
