I&D “ACES” Celebrated at 1st Annual ACE Awards.  Exhibit City News held its 1st Annual I&D ACE Awards program at the Four Seasons Hotel on February 24.   The ACE Awards honor the “BEST of” Aces who bring excellence to the show floors and exhibit houses. I&D ACES will be recognized for their dedication to company, customer, facility and co-workers – for going above and beyond with their hard work, loyalty and dedication.    The following ACES were recognized at this year’s event:

GDC Seeks EAC Support to Maintain Health & Safety.   The InformaTech division of Informa has reached out to the EAC community to support their efforts to make the Game Developers Conference as safe as possible.   The Game Developers Conference takes place at Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco from March 18-22.     Show management for GDC will be conducting daily Inspection Checklists to assure that all event contractors are following facility safety guidelines and they will be assisted on site by Pinkerton Security.   The heightened preparations come as a result of past incidents of threats issued by gamers to game developers as well as threats from gamer to gamer.   EACs at Moscone will access the facility, as they normally do, via Door 17 in the South Hall.    EACs are requested to be vigilant of any unsafe behavior and to work with show managment, the Moscone Center and GES to optimize safety at GDC.

Request from Hynes CC.  All staff or anyone using the Hynes Convention Center loading dock is requested to please use passenger elevators only for hand carry product.   Any or all freight must go up freight elevators only. There are signs posted outside of the elevators which specify what it can be used for. Freight elevators 1,2 3 and 17 should accommodate any freight size. Elevators 4,5,6,7,8,15 and 16 can only be used for hand carry or light product.

Sho-Link Announces So. Texas City Manager.    Sho-Link Incorporated a premier installation and dismantle service company, names Jesse Reyna to Southern Texas City Manager.   This promotion demonstrates Sho-Link’s continued commitment to employee pride and recognition. Reyna started working with Sho-Link in 2005 as a Las Vegas lead man.  He quickly became a popular traveling supervisor and was promoted to San Antonio City Manager.  Reyna will oversee the entire southern region of Texas which includes San Antonio, Austin and Houston areas.

Gateway Introduces New Client Success Specialist.  The Gateway team is proud and excited to announce the promotion of Jenny Rogers, our newest Client Success Specialist! Jenny started her career with Gateway of St. Louis on June 15, 2015 and has been a true asset to our project management department for the last several years. Her background in the experiential marketing industry, paired with her dedication to exceptional customer service, has helped her to develop strong client relationships and a trusted reputation for the company.

Las Vegas Considers High Speed Underground People Mover.  <Trade Show Executive>  Talks are under way to bring a high-speed, electric, underground people mover to major destinations in Las Vegas, including the Las Vegas Convention Center and McCarran International Airport.    The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) selected Elon Musk’s The Boring Company to collaborate with them on the design, construction and operation of the people mover. It would operate in an underground tunnel, transporting people between the convention center, the airport, the Las Vegas Boulevard resorts and downtown.

WIS Badge in Use at Charlotte CC.  Effective March 1, 2019, CCC will implement the ESCA Worker Identification System (WIS) requiring all workers be identified with either a WIS Badge or a CCC issued credential. This new program allows enhanced overall security for licensees and guests by drastically reducing the number of credentials which makes the process of worker identification much simpler.

Fastest 50 Class of 2018 Inveiled.  <Trade Show Executive>  The new Trade Show Executive (TSE) Fastest 50 list has now been unveiled and includes 90 exhibitions that posted the highest growth rates in three key metric categories last year.   See the full list of honorees here: www.tsefastest50.com/honorees.
