EACA Services NBAA in Las Vegas.  EACA serviced NBAA again in Las Vegas this year.  Covering both the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Executive Airport in Henderson where NBAA has Static Displays, EACA credentialed all EACs in both locations.

“Credentialing registered EACs in both locations poses a challenge,” said Jim Wurm, EACA Executive Director who was onsite at NBAA.   “We worked with facility management, catering management, valets and all onsite contractors in a collaborative fashion to make it work,” said Wurm.   “And most of all, we appreciate the leadership demonstrated by NBAA show management to make the credentialing process as efficient as possible.”

EACA Services Pack Expo in ChicagoEACA serviced Pack Expo again in Chicago this year covering the Lakeside, North, South and West Halls.

“EACA supported the credentialing of all registered EACs in every hall at McCormick Place as Pack Expo fills the entire exhibition space there,” said Jim Wurm, EACA Executive Director who was onsite at NBAA.   “We worked with show management, facility management, and show security to efficiently credential all EAC contractors in a collaborative fashion to make it work,” said Wurm.   “Pack Expo is one of our longest tenured show client as this is the 20th year that we have supported PMMI with our EAC Registration service.””

EACA to Meet at EDPA ACCESS  The EACA has confirmed that we will hold our end of year Board meeting at EDPA ACCESS in Palm Springs, CA

The end of year EACA Board meeting includes the election of new Directors to the Board and the introduction of the new Officers for 2025.    Any member interested in considering a position on the EACA Board is requested to email Executive Director, Jim Wurm at [email protected]EDPA ACCESS takes place Dec. 3-5 at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells in Palm Desert, CA.

LVCVA Provides November Parking Schedule.  In our ongoing cooperation with the LVCVA, the EACA has been provided with the
November Monthly Parking Schedule at the convention center.   

Check out the New EACA Job Board.There is a new Job Board on the EACA web site to assist members identify, locate and hire key personnel needed for company growth.   Features of this new Job Board include email alerts to job seekers when new jobs are posted to the site.  Employers can also have their listing prioritized and advertised.

Brumark Adds Sustainability Coordinator  <Exhibit City News>  Brumark introduced Brandie Townsend as their new Sustainability Coordinator. Townsend was Senior Consultant with Gershman, Brickner & Bratton, Inc. previously. Brumark’s hire is in support of their interests to reduce trade show waste and the development of a long term approach to a more efficient and environmentally sensitive approach to trade show carpet and flooring.

EACA Members Are Encouraged to Obtain the 2023 Exhibitor Advocate Survey of Exhibition Rates.   EACA members can utilize this report to showcase their understanding of the importance of staying ahead of industry trends and equipping their partners with the tools they need to succeed. Not only will the report provide valuable information for exhibitors, but it will also position the EAC as an indispensable ally to their clients.

Private Equity Firm Acquires GES for $535 Million <TSNN>   Viad Corporation, a public company, has entered into a definitive agreement with private Los Angeles-based private equity firm Truelink Capital to acquire GES, a global exhibition and event industry services provider, for $535 million.

The acquisition encompasses GES Exhibitions, a provider of global exhibition and logistics services; global experiential agency Spiro; and onPeak, SHOWTECH, and Visit, which provide event housing, power/lighting, and registration services, respectively.

Upon the transaction’s completion by Dec. 31, 2024, pending regulatory approvals, due diligence, and other customary closing conditions, GES will operate as a privately-owned entity within Truelink’s business portfolio. Some of GES and Spiro’s biggest trade show clients include Informa, ICSC, AMT, McDonalds, Pfizer, Merck, and Boeing, to name a few.

A’s Owner Pledges $1 Billion for New Las Vegas Stadium <Meetings & Conventions>   Athletics owner John Fisher and his family will invest $1 billion into the construction of a stadium in Las Vegas, and U.S. Bank and Goldman Sachs will offer a $300 million loan, club executive Sandy Dean said Thursday. Dean made his remarks to a special meeting of the Las Vegas Stadium Authority board.

Dean said four letters will be presented at the Dec. 5 authority meeting, asserting construction details and financing will be in place. Final approvals are expected to be made at that meeting to allow construction of the $1.5 billion, 30,000-seat domed ballpark with a capacity for up to 33,000 fans.   Construction is expected to begin in the spring with a targeted opening before the 2028 season. As much as $380 million in public funding will go into building the stadium, which will be on the Las Vegas Strip on the site of where the recently demolished Tropicana stood.

US Airlines Now Required to Provide Refunds for Cancelled Flights <CNN>  Airlines in the United States are now required to give passengers cash refunds if their flight is significantly delayed or canceled, even if that person does not explicitly ask for a refund.

The Department of Transportation says the final federal rule requiring that airlines dole out refunds — not vouchers — went into effect October 28. The major change is being implemented only a month before the start of what is likely to be a huge holiday travel season.
