EACA Producing 25th Anniversary Directory.   This year, 2023, marks the 25th Anniversary of the formation of the EACA.    Our good friends at Exhibit City News will be helping us to celebrating this milestone by producing our 25th Anniversary Member Directory.    The Member Directory will chronicle the history of the EACA as well as the complete listing of all members and will be available for distribution as ExhibitorLive in Louisville this April.

Be sure to take advantage of the advertising opportunities as this Directory is sure to be popular with the industry at-large, as well as a great resource for exhibitors.

EACA Conducting 2023 Salary Survey.  In response to the staffing challenges facing our entire industry, the EACA will be conducting a Salary Survey in January.  Please click the link provided to submit your data.   The survey is indexed by company size and service category.   All members who participate in the survey will receive a full report of the results.

4 Productions Announces Staff Changes.  Dave McCormack has been promoted from general manager to executive vice president of 4 Productions. In this new role, Dave will set the strategic goals for continued growth and success of the organization.  Ray Cielo has been promoted from director of operations to general manager of 4Productions. Ray has a history of more than 25 years in the live and hybrid events industry working in multiple areas, including exhibit design and production, labor management, audio visual production and virtual and hybrid event productions.  Sherrie Maltorell has been promoted to director of client services for 4Productions. As an account manager, Sherrie managed multiple key accounts for 4Productions over the years.

Eagle Management Names New Baltimore/DC City Manager/Adds to Accounting Team Eagle Management Group (“Eagle”) announces Justin Pena as City Manager for the Baltimore/Washington, DC region. Beginning his career in the tradeshow industry in 1999, Justin brings over 23 years of experience to the Eagle team.

In addition, Eagle announced Jean Nuzzolo as new Senior Accountant. Jean is a graduate from Glassboro State College holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a minor in Computer Science. She is also a CPA in the State of New Jersey.

Lancaster Management Names Buffkin Director of Sales.  Lancaster Management Services is excited to share the hiring of Rick Buffkin to their #orangeteam family as director of sales. Rick has been in sales his entire career, and many of those years has been in the tradeshow/event industry with Freeman and e4 Designs. He has a tenured track record for business development and leadership with his various roles.

Momentum Adds to Accounting Team.   Momentum Management welcomes Dipali Kumbhar as she joins the organization’s growing accounting team. Dipali comes to Momentum with an extensive background in accounting systems and customer service. Dipali’s work experience is supported by a Bachelor of Science degree and a Salesforce Administrator certificate.

25th Anniversary Celebration at ExhibitorLive.  The EACA’s 25th Anniversary will bring about a special celebration at ExhibitorLive in Louisville, KY (April 23-27, 2023 at the Kentucky International Convention Center).   All EACA members are invited to attend.

The 25th Anniversary Celebration Reception takes place on Monday, April 24 from 3:15pm to 5:15pm in Room L013 where the association will recognize all its Past Presidents, and all those companies who have been members for 25 years.  In addition, EACA will be distributing its 25th Anniversary Directory to all in attendance to chronicle the initiatives and accomplishments of the past 25 years and to celebrate its members.

Take Advantage of New Health Insurance Offering. The EACA has recently joined the Small Association Leadership Alliance (SALA) in order to take advantage of their health insurance programs which can offer discounts up to 50% of what companies and individuals typically pay for coverages with carriers like Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

Industry News

Exhibitor Advocate Releases Study of Exhibitor Costs.  The first major piece of research was recently presented by The Exhibitor Advocate… the 2022 Material Handling and Labor Rate Survey.

This important resource will provide show managers, exhibitors, facilities and industry suppliers with a cost comparison of average labor and material handling rates across 16 U.S. cities.  The Exhibitor Advocate encourages industry stakeholders to utilize the survey to accurately budget for upcoming shows, configure affordable exhibitor packages and more! The 2022 Material Handling and Labor Rate Survey is just one of the many tools The Exhibitor Advocate will deliver to the industry to preserve exhibitions as a valuable and irreplaceable part of the marketing mix.
Jurisdictional Dispute In Las Vegas Awarded to Teamsters.  The NLRB recently concluded that the jurisdiction for installing monitor brackets for events in Las Vegas should be awarded to the Teamsters.    The Teamsters had been in a dispute with the IBEW regarding that work.   The NLRB reached this conclusion relying on the factors of the collective-bargaining agreements, employer preference and current assignment, and relative training and skills.

TSNN Welcomes New Team Members <TSNN> TSNN is growing its team with two new hires. Long-time trade show journalist Danica Tormohlen has joined as Vice President of Content for Tarsus Media (encompassing TSNN and Corporate Event News), and Bridgett Maddux has joined as National Sales Manager for Tarsus Media. 

ExhibitorLive Will Take Place in 2023.  Mark Johnson, chairman and CEO of Minneapolis-based The STARGroup, recently confirmed that ExhibitorLive will take place in Louisville next April according to sources.   While this announcement has yet to be posted on their website, ExhibitorLive is scheduled to take place in Louisville on April 23-27, 2023 at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
