EACA Celebrates 25 Years at ExhibitorLive.    The EACA celebrated its 25th Anniversary at ExhibitorLive in Louisville, KY on April 24.     The celebration included a reception for all EACA members in attendance and included a special honoring of those members who have supported the EACA since its inception.

EACA Board Meets at ExhibitorLive  The EACA Board met in Louisville at ExhibitorLive.    Key topics of discussion included a review of current initiatives and a discussion of current challenges members are facing.

Current initiatives include:
– Working with EDPA on developing our Future Workforce
– Updating the EACA member Code of Conduct
– Creating annual agreements with Freeman and Hargrove so EACA members can file COIs once annually
– Finalizing the 2023 EACA Salary Survey
– Renewing efforts to finish the EACA App for members

Current challenges include:
– EAC Fees
– Staff shortages persist

EACA 2023 Salary Survey.   The EACA has finalized its 2023 Salary Survey  and is now available to all members who participated.   If you missed out you can still submit your data and an updated report will be forwarded to you.

Exhibit City News Hires 2 Industry Veterans <Exhibit City News>  Exhibit City News (ECN) appoints Lisa “Li” Jackson (on left) as Digital Editor of the 29 years old magazine. She will work directly with Don Svehla as the interim Managing Editor to continue the vision and legacy of the highly respected news organization.

To continue the growth of ECN, Ashley Sou (on right) has been appointed as Sales Executive. She is responsible for our digital and print publication sales, as well as client relations. Her expertise in social media marketing and digital integration will ignite our clients into the 21st century.

Take Advantage of New Health Insurance Offering. The EACA has recently joined the Small Association Leadership Alliance (SALA) in order to take advantage of their health insurance programs which can offer discounts up to 50% of what companies and individuals typically pay for coverages with carriers like Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

DuBois to Retire from IAEE <TSNN>  After 11 years as president and CEO of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), David DuBois will retire effective Dec. 31, 2023.

DuBois will lead the association through its strategic growth initiatives in 2023 and continue to build on his legacy of advancing IAEE’s mission and member community.

Kentucky Reverses Course on Sales Tax <TSNN>  The Kentucky General Assembly has passed legislation that includes a revision (from 6% to 0%) to the commonwealth’s sales tax on exhibit and sponsor space rental for face-to-face business events. Signed into law by Governor Andy Beshear on March 24, it states that business event organizers will be exempt from charging sales tax to their exhibitors and sponsors, essentially reversing a new 6% tax that went into effect on Jan. 1.

TSNN Launches Exhibitor News Network <TSNN> TSNN the top online news source for the trade show industry, launched Exhibitor News Network (ENN), a new website, e-newsletter and social channels for exhibit management and event marketing professionals who participate in U.S. exhibition industry, valued at the $101 billion, according to the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR). Exhibitors represent 70% of the revenues generated from the trade show industry, CEIR research finds..
