EACA & IFES Sign Collaboration Agreement. As of May 30, 2024, EACA and IFES have come together to form a Strategic Partnership arrangement for three years. Jim Wurm, EACA Executive Director and Steve Riches, IFES Board Director signed the mutual agreement while both were participating in the ECA Legislative Day in Washington, DC.
IFES is the International Federation of national associations and individual companies active in the design, conception, production and show services for temporary structures used at exhibitions and trade shows. It is the only organization dedicated to specific needs of exhibit designers and providers of tradeshow services.
Details of the collaboration include mutual commitments to provide one another’s members with educational content at their respective meetings or conferences, and to organize an annual forum (either online or at an industry event) to allow members of each association to exchange knowledge on topics of interest, among other information exchanges.
Status of Labor Industry Webinar. On May 21 Jim Wurm, Executive Director, along with Bill Muller of Nth Degree, presented a webinar on the State of the Labor Industry for the members of EDPA NW. The webinar included current labor industry information as it relates to the production of trade shows and events. Features of this new Job Board include email alerts to job seekers when new jobs are posted to the site. Employers can also have their listing prioritized and advertised.

Expo Group Hires Mazanti as VP of Show Sales. The Expo Group recently announced that Rachel Mazzanti has been hired as their new Executive Vice President, Show Sales. TEG believes Rachel’s excellent leadership expertise and valuable experience in the trade show and events industry will enable them to achieve new levels of success.
RSNA Offers Virtual Office Hours to EACA members. Jorie Dydo, who handles Operations for RSNA, has offered a series of Virtual Office Hours for EACs to help in the planning of services for clients at this year’s show.
RSNA is committed to supporting our exhibitors and I want to make sure you know about all of the opportunities available to ensure you and your clients have a successful show. These live Q&A sessions with RSNA staff and invited guests will help you learn more about the scheduled topic and get questions answered for your clients. We answer any and all questions, even if not directly related to the weekly scheduled topic.

EACA 2024 Salary Survey. The 2024 EACA Salary Survey was completed at the end of April. Our salary survey is conducted annually to assist all members with the administration of employee compensation. The results collected in the Salary Survey can be searched and compared to other companies of each member’s size and service category.

EACA Members Are Encouraged to Obtain the 2023 Exhibitor Advocate Survey of Exhibition Rates. EACA members can utilize this report to showcase their understanding of the importance of staying ahead of industry trends and equipping their partners with the tools they need to succeed. Not only will the report provide valuable information for exhibitors, but it will also position the EAC as an indispensable ally to their clients.
This year the survey’s scope has been expanded to include forklift and hanging sign rates. The full report was crafted with the support and collaboration of Tradeshow Logic, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners and independently verified by Evolio

Memorial Service for George Roysden. For all our members and colleagues in Atlanta, a date and location has been established for the memorial service for George Roysden who passed away earlier this year. The service will be held at the VFW in Conyers, GA on July 20 from 2pm to 6pm. All friends and colleagues of George are welcome to attend.

ECA Legislative Action Day Breaks Record It’s official! With more than 130 industry leaders and advocates attending, ECA Legislative Action Day 2024 was the largest gathering of the business events industry on Capitol Hill ever!
What happened: On May 30, industry leaders and advocates met with their lawmakers on Capitol Hill to advocate for 2 key industry priorities:
– Eliminating visa backlogs and modernizing the visa processing system.
– Helping attract and retain the industry’s next generation workforce.
Kudos to Tommy Goodwin of ECA for assembling all the appointments and necessary data points that made all the meetings of our industry advocates a success.
CEIR Release Q1 2024 Index Results. The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) announced today that the U.S. business-to-business (B2B) exhibition industry continues to rebound, recording further improvement in the first quarter of 2024. Continued improvement in metrics outcomes for completed events – especially the strong rebound of exhibition attendance – boosted the Q1 2024 Index value to 92.3. As expected, the CEIR Total Index – a measure of overall exhibition performance – continues to recover, surging 3.8% from a year ago.
Performance registered 7.7% below the same period in 2019, marking a gain compared to the past two years, which included a 32.0% shortfall in Q1 2022 and an 11.5% deficit in Q1 2023. As evidence of continued momentum, the Q1 CEIR Total Index gained 0.3 percentage points compared to Q4 2023.

- EXHIBITOR eTrak Online Learning, offered each month on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Complete submissions will be accepted through December 31, 2024, and if selected, will be held in 2024 or 2025.
